Mary Sowell League is in the Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. She has concentrated her efforts in workers’ compensation defense for more than 15 years and during that time has defended thousands of cases. Prior to joining the firm, Mary was a law clerk to the late Justice George T. Gregory, former chief justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court, providing her with a unique perspective of the Supreme Court. Mary was recently selected for inclusion in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® .
Mary’s experience includes:
- Representation of employers, insurance carriers, and self-insureds before the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission.
- Representation of employers, insurance carriers, and self-insureds in appeals to the South Carolina Circuit Court, South Carolina Court of Appeals and South Carolina Supreme Court.
- Leading the appellate practice within the Workers’ Compensation Practice Group, participating in all South Carolina Supreme Court and Court of Appeals cases.
