Christian L. Rogers

Chris Rogers is a member of the Business, Real Estate and Finance Practice Group. In addition to his Juris Doctor, Chris earned a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Laws in Taxation. From this multi-dimensional perspective, Chris counsels business clients on choice of entity decisions; the proper formation of business entities; legal issues affecting new businesses; and transfers of existing businesses. In the area of tax law, Chris has advised real estate developers in the use of tax credits and other government incentives to help finance projects when conventional financing cannot be obtained. He represents clients before federal, state and local tax authorities in tax controversy matters. He has assisted a number of charitable entities in obtaining favorable determinations of tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service and provides counsel on special issues faced by tax-exempt entities.  Chris also helps clients to defer tax liability through the use of tax-deferred like-kind property exchanges of business and investment properties.
