Jack Pringle
Shareholder
Jack Pringle concentrates his practice in the areas of administrative and regulatory law, information technology, public utilities, environmental law and land use litigation, and class action litigation.
Jack’s experience includes:
- Litigating a variety of matters before state agencies and the S.C. Administrative Law Court including environmental permitting cases, disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) applications, local and state tax cases, certificate of need (CON) applications, and alcohol licensing applications.
- Arguing appeals before the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court.
- Addressing emerging information technology issues in the areas of privacy and security for financial institutions, telecommunications providers, and other businesses, in the context of regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, and litigation.
- Advising clients on the retention, collection, management, and production of electronically stored information (ESI). Jack has completed the Kroll Ontrack E-Discovery Certification Course.
- Assisting public utilities, developers, and property owners in obtaining zoning and land use approvals, and addressing environmental permitting, compliance, remediation, and enforcement matters.
- Providing representation in state, federal, and multi-district class action litigation, and in state and federal court commercial litigation matters.
- Representing public utilities and transportation companies regulated by the South Carolina Public Service Commission.
- Litigating procurement matters before local and state procurement officers and review panels.
- Advising wireline, cable, and wireless telecommunications providers on the franchise, licensing, and regulatory requirements applicable in South Carolina, and assisting these companies in obtaining these licenses.
- Representing telecommunications providers in a variety of regulatory, contract and litigation matters
Jack is an alumnus of Leadership Columbia and a volunteer soccer coach in the Columbia United YMCA Recreational Youth Soccer League. His interest in technology serves him well as a member of the Board of Trustees of Engenuity SC, a strategic leadership council dedicated to guiding initiatives to spur the creation of knowledge-oriented companies in South Carolina.
