David Sojourner is a member of the Trusts and Estates Practice Group and concentrates his practice on helping clients address complex tax planning issues and establishing effective, practical estate and business succession plans. He also provides legal counsel in the area of trust litigation. By combining a thorough understanding of the law with the ability to provide considerate, personalized counsel, Dave is uniquely qualified for this role. He is both a Certified Taxation Specialist and a Certified Estate Planning and Probate Specialist.
Dave’s extensive experience includes assisting clients with a variety of issues, such as:

- Multi-generational asset transfers
- Asset protection strategies
- Family business organization and planning

Because estate tax and business planning laws are constantly changing, Dave places a priority on professional involvement. He is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (Trusts and Estates), and selected for the South Carolina Super Lawyers. He has served as chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Specialization Advisory Board, the South Carolina Bar Tax Section and the South Carolina Supreme Court’s Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization.
Dave is active in the community and currently serves as the chair of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School board of trustees. He is the former senior warden of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and the former chair of the Central Carolina Community Foundation.
