Kirby D. Shealy III

Kirby Shealy is a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group.  He has extensive jury trial and appellate experience in contract disputes, real property concerns and First Amendment issues.  He has also handled copyright and trademark infringement claims, insurance coverage matters, corporate governance cases, and catastrophic injury and death claims against trucking and other commercial enterprises.   

Outside of his law practice, Shealy participates in a wide array of public service activities. He currently serves as the Chair of the Richland County Public Library and York Place, a facility for children with emotional disturbances.  Kirby is the current President of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court, an organization of lawyers and judges whose mission is to promote the highest standards of civility, professionalism and competency in the legal profession, and also serves on the South Carolina Supreme Court’s Committee on Character and Fitness, the entity charged with determining the suitability of applicants to the South Carolina Bar.
