Tommy joined Ellis Lawhorne in 2007 and is responsible for implementing the Firm’s strategic goals as well as overseeing day-to-day operations. Tommy brings more than 30 years of administration and executive-level managerial experience to Ellis Lawhorne. Most recently, he served as chief human resources executive and was a member of the management operating committee for NetBank, Inc., formerly Resource Bancshares Mortgage Group, Inc. He also served as a senior vice president for Wachovia Bank of South Carolina.
A Columbia native, Tommy earned his bachelor’s of arts degree in behavioral sciences from the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the Young Executive Institute, the Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Currently he serves as chairman of the board of directors of the South Carolina Student Loan Corporation. He has served on numerous committees for the South Carolina Bankers Association, South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, the Affordable Housing Study Committee, and on the board of directors of the Columbia Urban League.
