Kirby Shealy Joins Ellis Lawhorne as a Shareholder, Litigation Practice Group Member
Ellis, Lawhorne & Sims P.A. is pleased
to announce that Kirby Shealy has joined the firm as a shareholder and a member
of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Mr. Shealy has
extensive jury trial and appellate experience in contract disputes, real
property concerns and First Amendment issues.

credentials will be a tremendous asset to our clients,” said managing
shareholder William P. McElveen, Jr. “We are thrilled to welcome him to Ellis
Lawhorne.”
Mr. Shealy is also experienced in
copyright and trademark infringement claims, insurance coverage matters,
corporate governance cases, and catastrophic injury and death claims against
trucking and other commercial enterprises.
He currently serves as the Chair of the
Richland County Public Library and York Place, a facility for children with
emotional disturbances. Mr. Shealy is
the President of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court, an organization of
lawyers and judges whose mission is to promote the highest standards of
civility, professionalism and competency in the legal profession. He is also a
member of the South Carolina Supreme Court’s Committee on Character and
Fitness, the entity charged with determining the suitability of applicants to
the South Carolina Bar.
Mr. Shealy earned his Juris Doctor from
the University of South Carolina School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in
history from Davidson College. He is admitted to the South Carolina Bar, the
U.S. District Court of South Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
