Ernest G. Lawhorne voted “Best Attorney” by readers of The State
Ernest G. Lawhorne, a founding shareholder of Ellis Lawhorne, was recently voted “Best Attorney” by readers of The State newspaper in Columbia. The selection was part of The State’s annual “Best of the Best” publication that includes 103 rated categories. Lawhorne was the only attorney recognized with the “Best Attorney” distinction.
Lawhorne is a member of the Ellis Lawhorne Workers’ Compensation Practice Group and focuses his practice on comprehensive civil litigation, including insurance defense, premises and product liability litigation, and workers’ compensation matters involving representation of both self-insured employers and insurance carriers. Lawhorne was selected as a 2010 Best Lawyer in America® and holds an AV Rating, the highest rating awarded by the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Lawhorne is a member of the Richland County Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar and the
South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association.
