Ellis Lawhorne ranked among nation's Best Law Firms by U.S. News & World Report

Ellis Lawhorne is pleased to announce it was recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers in America® in the inaugural issue of 2010 Best Law Firms. The business law firm of more than 35 attorneys received a metropolitan first-tier ranking for its work in general commercial litigation, product liability litigation for defendants, real estate law, trusts and estates law, and workers’ compensation law for claimants and employers.

U.S. News & World Report partnered with Best Lawyers in America®, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, to produce the national ranking of law firms by state and practice area. Those ranked among the Best Law Firms were chosen after an exhaustive national survey of clients, which was then combined with more than 3.1 million evaluations of individual lawyers in these firms in the most recent Best Lawyers in America® survey of leading lawyers. Altogether, 8,782 law firms from across the country were ranked in 81 practice areas. The rankings are intended as a referral guide for attorneys, corporations, individuals, and others.

U.S. News & World Report has more than two decades of experience in providing the public with the most accurate and in-depth rankings of a wide range of institutions, including America’s best law schools, universities and hospitals.

The announcement comes on the heels of 14 of Ellis Lawhorne’s shareholders being selected to the 2011 edition of Best Lawyers in America® in August. William P. McElveen, Ellis Lawhorne managing shareholder, says these honors reflect the quality and depth of services provided by the firm’s attorneys. “Our attorneys consistently deliver quality legal services in all of our core practice areas. Our responsiveness, professionalism, and extensive knowledge in complex areas of law have clearly set us apart.”
